Evidence Sweeper is a very useful piece of software to be used in case you are concerned with your privacy or data security.

The program is designed to help you clear your tracks regarding all online and offline computer activity and. It can also be used to delete files beyond recovery in order to keep data secrecy.

Using the program is very simple due to its intuitive and nicely designed interface. There is a list of items to be cleaned containing temporary files stored by Web browsers or by Windows, recently accessed files, registry entries, un-necessary files or folders. You can also use the program in order to enable or disable plugins for different applications and, of course, to scan you hard-drives in order to detect and delete unwanted files. You can choose to scan your partitions using file masks or wildcards.

You can set the program to start with Windows and you can assign hotkeys for quickly erasing data and for running the program in invisible mode. When deleting files, you can choose between three methods of file destruction in order to make sure your deleted data won't recovered.

Another useful feature is the option the lock your home page in Internet Explorer so it wouldn't be erased. You can also create a list of cookies, IE addresses or Windows history items to keep.

Pluses: A very nice feature is the 'Test' mode. The program will actually simulate a data wiping operation. This can be useful in case you are not sure what you want to delete.

Drawbacks / flaws: Mozilla Firefox temporary files cannot be cleaned up since the program is not listed.

In conclusion: A very good data security and privacy preservation program, but it could use some improvement.
